You will develop a complete application in Java to run on the Android OS. It must function on all versions of Android OS including the new version 2.2 “Froyo.”<br/>The application will use the Google Maps application to display and plot the user’s current GPS location. The app will receive points of interest location data from a server and plot that data on the Google Map.<br/>The data on the server will be refreshed at a set rate and the application will have to re-plot the points of interest data from the server on the Google map at that same refresh rate.<br/>When a user opens the app it must automatically zoom-in on the user’s location to provide a 0.3km radius complete with all points of interest plotted around the user.<br/>A hypothetical example to demonstrate the required functionality:<br/>A user will be driving around in their car looking for a gas station. They will start the app, which will display their location on Google Maps and automatically zoom-in to a 0.3km radius around them. The app will request or receive data from a server; the data would be the location of all gas stations within 4km of the user. The app will plot the location of all of the gas stations on the Google map. The app will automatically refresh/re-plot the gas stations on the map at the same refresh rate that the data on the server is refreshed at. The map will follow the user’s GPS location constantly plotting all gas stations within a 0.3km radius.<br/>We are looking for a serious provider who has previous experience in developing Android applications and has significant Java experience.<br/>You must be able to communicate well in English and also provide status reports and discuss technical challenges.<br/>This project is quick turn-around. That means that we cannot wait for you to create a “Scope of Work” document. Provide your price and schedule quote based on the information contained in this job description.
