Description
I need the modbus RTU/ASCII protocol written in C in a general format so that it can be ported to different microcontrollers.  This will be a serial application on RS232 or RS485 for the Microchip microcontroller but be able to port to different microcontrollers by changing the port.c and port.h files.
It will need to have these features.
1.        Multiple ports – software selectable
2.        Master or slave on either port independent of each other– software selectable
3.        Enron Modbus and standard modbus also with extended addressing – software selectable
4.        RTU and ASCII – software selectable
5.        Written for the PIC32.
