We have an application, which you can use and test at http://dev.sendlove.us/journal<br/>It is PHP, MySQL, AJAX,JavaScript, Apache on Linux.<br/>The source code is at http://svn.sendlove.us/svn/repos/journal/<br/>Work we need:<br/>In the active speakers window on the left, add a typing indicator to the right of the person's name when they are typing.<br/>When someone starts typing characters in the send box, add a little "..." on the active speakers list to show others that they are typing.<br/>If they have not typed a character for more than 5 seconds, reset the indicator.<br/>When they send their message, reset the indicator.<br/>Like chat messages, the indicator should have the lowest possible latency - embed the chatting indicator data in the same long polling call that is used to give low latency response on the main chat.<br/>Behavior should work on IE, FireFox, and Safari.<br/>That's it!!<br/>Please only bid/accept this job if you can start work immediately and finish in 2 days, and can login to our chat room - http://dev.sendlove.us/journal to get setup with a dev account.
