描述

I have an idea for a mostly simple website but the complicated part is that it will include a petition which people can sign a la the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth petition.

www.ae911truth.org

And there will be a way for a person to choose to display their e...mail address in case they want to find people in their community to work with. It's a political organizing website. Or rather if they want people in their community to be able to find them.

Other than that it's just information; text, photos, videos, graphs, graphics of many kinds, links, RSS feed, and documents available for download.

Easy for people to follow it on twitter and facebook and so on. And easy for me to add content. That is key.

Will pay!

By the way I don't know how to use drupal, cms, php or joomla, but I've heard those are content managements systems or programming languages. I do not know how to design a website but the job that I am describing is a site that I could easily add to. You can choose the language.

Obviously there are not enough details here for you to really know what this project is. I can supply more details how, through this site? I'm not just going to put everything out right here to start. If you can do what I have described here, then the content is no problem. The format is what distinguishes this project.

The site will display the names of people who have signed the petition who are teachers AFTER I verify that they really have a teaching credential. I am assuming that each state has a website like California's where one can check the teaching credential of any teacher.

As far as those who sign the petition who are not teachers, this is a problem. I envision this petition getting a LOT of signatures and I am not going to be willing or able to check each one of them to prevent spammers or those putting in fake names and multiple names from doing that. As with the ae911truth.org site this site should automatically send an email with a hyperlink to the email address that people provide when they sign the petition. But there needs to be more beyond that.

One option is to display the names of those who voluntarily choose to provide their name and email address to be shared with others, with anybody else who sees this on line. Perhaps a way to do that is for them to provide their street address as well. I could check each one of these versus the white pages or the internet equivalent. Not as many people would want to do that. Their street address would only be seen by me but their name and email address would be posted live on line.

Obviously I will need a way to go in and remove people from the list of displayed names.

In other words the site needs to build a database of those who sign the petition and I need to be able to search this database on any field and remove any entry.

Perhaps you could give me your opinion on how to balance these goals; the time required to check each person who signs and the possibility of people putting up multiple or fake signatures on the one hand with the goal of having the petition open to everyone or at least everyone who can provide some way that I can verify them.

I don't think there is any value in having a petition signed by many people identified only as "Joe Smith in Chicago". I either need more information about Joe Smith in Chicago, or need to not have him displayed as having signed the petition. I want the names on the petition to mean something.
