General - i use volusion shopping cart software. i need an application (it can be web or desktop), to pull inventory information from my previous ftp sites and sync. it with volusion inventory. Volusion provides API integration. in addition my entire product base is available and gets updated once a day through public XML feed.


1- Uploading new products and categorization:

The app will map all vendors categories according to existing volusion category IDs. this way when we upload new products file we will have the correct category IDs assigned to new products being uploaded. > if vendor has a category that doesn't exist in volusion then the app will allow the user to enter new category and the same app will update volusion categories with the new category created.

2- Ongoing inventory updates:

a- main updates will be vendors pricing and stock status. update can be put directly through API integration or CSV import into volusion. if vendor price has changed then sale price will need to be updated as well.
b- compare products from vendors: app will check which vendor has the same product(s), for the lowest price, in stock and update the information in volusion accordingly.

3- future New / Discontinued products updates:

a- New Products - Any time the vendor's inventory has products that are not in my volusion product base. the application will need to update all the information available on that product from the available vendor's ftp / xml files/feeds into volusion.
b- discontinued Products - the app will hide any discontinued products in volusion.
