We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to manage our Linux Virtual Server(s) for development and production on an ongoing basis. Our company is growing and we are looking for someone to grow with us. YOU MUST BE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA.

Responsibilities include:

- Advise on hosting options and strategies in areas related to cost, performance, reliability, redundancy, scalability, security, etc.
- Manage Linux-based VPSs and/or Dedicated Servers.
- Back up servers and server files. Restore as necessary.
- Set up and configure new and existing servers
- Migrate server contents to new machines and systems.
- Optimize Drupal, WordPress and other installed applications to maximize performance
- Update installed software with all appropriate patches
- Analyze and secure the servers
- Respond to and resolve security issues such as threats, attacks and breaches
- Manage DNS
- Manage and Configure Mail for Company and Clients
- Configure and manage client accounts
- Respond to and resolve client support requests
- Install and Manage Drupal, Wordpress, and other sites and applications
- Manage, configure, and optimize Apache, PHP, and MySQL.
- Interface with Internet Service Provider(s) regarding server configurations, issues, and questions.
- Perform other relevant administrative functions as necessary

You should have the following qualifications.

- Four-plus years experience with Linux Servers and Desktop including multiple distributions and versions
- Three-plus years experience managing and optimizing Drupal and WordPress sites
- Thorough understanding of Apache, MySQL, and PHP configuration, capabilities, and best practices.
- Highly dependable

- Ability to work flexible hours in response to company and client needs
- Very strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks
