Money Buddy is a internet site we wish to launch both to employers as well as directly to consumers. The objective of the site will be as follows:

1.  Simplifies and removes the administrative burden of producing a monthly personal budget – automate the recording of actual spending patterns
2.  Provides useful insights and reports on consumers spending by reporting on actual spending patterns
3.  Provides best practice comparisons, analysis and useful tips on consumers budgets – access to tools and advice
4.  Use such data to report to community groups (e.g. employer, type of industry, geographical) and to identify trends in these groups



Therefore the crux of the site will be for consumers to be able to download their bank statements from 6 South African banks onto this site. The programme then automatically classifies the line items into their budget where possible. Where not possible the consumer will classify manually these line items. However, the system will remember how the consumer classified their line items and repeat such classification in future. It will also allow our consultants to interact with such consumer and provide online advice where requested.
