We need a flash card application for the iPhone. This app will allow users to create their own flash cards either on the phone or a website, whichever is most convenient for the user. If the user creates the flash cards on a website, they will be able to sync the flash cards with their device.

Our company has already architected the database, but we need help with the programming side.

Development

We are looking for a company that can create such an app in approximately 2 weeks.
The company needs to be proficient not only in coding iphone apps, but also able to have the app communicate with a website should the user want to enter the flash cards online.

Also, it is critical that the company bidding on this project have strong graphic design capabilities. We want the app to look and feel like the user is actually flipping cards.....not just have words on a blank screen.

Features

This app will allow users to download or create customized flash cards. We will maintain a repository of flash cards online and will give users access to this repository via our website and via this app. For example, if a user creates a ‘Presidents of the United States’ flash card series or a ‘Capitals of the United States’ series, that set of flash cards would be available to other users to download.

Users will have ability to rate cards with a 5-star rating. User would be able to sort the most popular decks with the web service. User will also be able to 'Report Abuse,' which will flag the deck and email our company to review the card deck in question.

Using our web portal, users will have an easy to use interface that resembles a spreadsheet to create a set of flash cards. The spreadsheet will be similar to the example file attached to this posting. In short, this will allow users the ability to design flash cards that contain text as well as images and sounds. This flexible design will able users to create flash cards with unlimited number of sides. In other words, you could have a three-sided card or more if desired.

From the app, users will be able to search our repository and will be able to download and/or sync flash cards. This will provide users with the most flexibility. Users will be able to pick which set of flash cards that they wish to study using a picker similar to the picker used by Apple’s App Store to find apps. Users will further be able to select which cards they will study using another picker. This picker will allow users to check which cards in a deck he/she wants to study.

Users can choose the following ways to view cards:
1. Random
2. Sequentially
3. Just those not answered correctly.

The app will also score the user based upon his/her performance. Likewise, the app will have some intelligence. That is, the app will be able to determine which flash card the user is having trouble with and will display these cards more frequently if the user so chooses. For example, once a card is answered correctly, the user will check mark the card and the card will no longer show in the stack for that study round.

As for the visual appearance of the app, flash cards will look similar to their tangible counterpart. However, a user will have the ability to change their look/appearance. In addition, each card should display a watermark like image in the bottom right-hand corner of the card so that we can brand our logo or sell advertising space.

When a user navigates through his/her set of cards, the user will experience transitions that mimic the flipping actions of real cards.

Users

We anticipate that this app could be used in a number of way and by a number of different people. We see the app being used by professionals, teachers, students, and causal users who are wanting to learn something new.
