We are looking for a standalone Joomla component that will allow us to run queries via the amazon api and import products into our Virtuemart catalog.

Amazon API Interface:

1. The ability to build a search query profile based on one or more of the following variables: keywords, distributor, category, brand, high price, low price, and sku.


a. Search results must have the ability to be sorted by: name, price, distributor, brand, and sku


b. Ability to create a new Virtuemart category on the fly to assign the results to as well as the ability to assign the query results to an existing Virtuemart category.


c. Additionaly, the ability to op-out of creating a Virtuemart category just to see what type of search result will be returned.

2. From list of search results, check boxes and button in upper right hand corner to "Save Search Query"

3. Query results are then stored in the "Query Manager" before giving the user the option to add all or just the selected items to the Virtuemart catalog.

4. "Query Manager" feature that keeps track of all search results that have been selected and are ready for import into the VM database.


a. Virtuemart category indicator displays which category the item is to be included in in the VM product list.


b. Status indicator for each item reading Selected or Added with a red "X" signifying selected and a green "checkmark" signifying added.


c. Ability to toggle the checkmark on an import item which adds or removes the item from appearing in the VM database.


d. Ability to bulk remove items from the import manager as well as the Virtuemart database.


e. All items in the "Pre-Import" are tracked according to selected, added, and discarded. selected meaning added to pre-import, added meaning added to VM product database, discarded meaning unwanted.

5. All item information is added to the respective fields in Virtuemart so that when adding an item to VM - there is no need to manual editing unless the user wants to add additional or custom description information.

6. Extended product description functionality that will allow us to append a custom description to any item, assign that description to the item and store it in the database. This will be applied to ALL items that are imported with this component, allowing us to maintain our custom description information after any automated product updates or modifications.

Automation Features (create a VM Shopbuilder section that allows us to set these parameters and view/edit our search filters):

1. All Amazon search queries must be able to be saved and cataloged for later use.


a. To implement this feature, it will be necessary to save "Query Profiles" in the "Query Manager".


b. Query Profiles include all of the filters that will allow us to drill down items in the search results and the indicators that make an item "selected, added, or discarded". That way the next time we run the query we don't have to sort through 10,000 product entries and are able to just grab new items that return from the query.


c. Ability to run all saved search queries via a cron task.


d. Ability to identify new products in a cron-run search result, flag them, and notify web administrator via email. Must be able to filter new products out of the query results from Amazon Importer backend.
